From The Artist

My seascapes are a new twist to seashell painting. Each seashell is cast in layers of resin, hand painted and then cut to allow light through. After a final complete casting they become a very unique suncatcher.
Hung in a window or other light source, the prism effect created gives a vivid three-dimensional quality to the seascape that brings it to life, and changes it throughout the day according to light intensity.
These are all crafted from local hand-picked Bay Of Fundy shells, ranging from crab, mussels, rare conks, and scallops. Each type of seashell brings its own unique quality to the seascape painted within, due mainly to the shape of its body and inner luminous skin.
My craft is unusual as I never know the final “look” until the final casting is set, becoming quite beautiful and serene.
I have been a craftsman and artist for over 30 years and have crafted/created many ideas. This craft represents my finest and most popular work. Each piece is tagged   “Attic View Art” and signed by myself. I know you’ll enjoy these suncatchers for years to come.
